BEAUTIFUL IN ITS TIME

Overview

What if the world was perfect, and everything was right? What if we had everyone on track, a flawless generation, straight minds, upright hearts? Enjoy this short article in which I express my deepest desires and wishes for our current generation.

Every single day that passes, a deep desire continually grows in the deepest parts of my heart- a desire to live in a world where justice prevails, and everyone works to deserve what they want to have, and what they want to get.

We live in an ‘easy come’ generation, a generation that seeks for immediate gratification in literally everything. We want to finish high school today and have our lives established by tomorrow, established companies, our names in the cover pages of magazines- the pomp and glory. So we are always striving to keep up. You are constantly browsing through instagram pages,a habit that creates a constant feeling in you, that you are not enough. That you need to be doing more, that you need to be more physically attractive, you need to get money to keep changing your wardrobe because what you have will never be enough. That you need to be bigger than you are. So you start to want to live a life of flashing what you don’t have. You’d rather live in debt, but keep up the image. You manage to impress us, but in the end you have to go back to the real you. Alone in your bed, you have to face yourself, and deal with the consequences of trying to impress a virtual world that really doesn’t even care about you. Like, do these people on instagram even know your second name? Yeah, I thought so. Social media is a place where people display the splendor of their good times. That is its purpose. And most of these people we keep checking out on, are actually happy. Those expensive outfits they have, they actually own them. That’s reality for them. And there’s nothing wrong with them sharing their success. So If I were you, I  wouldn’t criticize them for being flashy. That success is real for them. They are flashing what they actually have. Keep that in mind.

Listen. You don’t need to have all the money by the time you are 24. You need to respect time, hard work, you need to respect the hustling process and period, and not keep trying to skip through these by running to instant money sources like betting games, pyramid schemes. Easy come, easy go.

I dream of a generation that will understand what true happiness actually feels like. Because we are so busy. We are so busy chasing after fame, chasing after money, after girls, chasing after fun and hype, drinks, casual sex. This is what we are investing ALL our time, thoughts and conversations into. It’s all good until, it begins to control us and we start to realize that it’s only temporary fun that in the long run causes permanent damage. Our clouded judgment, leads to poor irrational decisions that dents our friendships, breaks our relationships, depression. So our own bodies begin to cry, ‘enough is enough!’ Cause by that time throat, lung cancer, liver cirrhosis weird things are by now infesting.

Sometimes I find it interesting how we are ready to priorities fun, ready to spend  your hard-earned money/ your parents’ hard earned money, for drinks, smoke, every single day, week, month , to constantly neglect your health in the name of creating hype, fitting in with your squad. Is it worth your valuable money, valuable time, and valuable life?

It’s definitely okay that we want to have some fun, and chill out from time to time, you get drinks with friends ,that is fine. But, when it comes to a point where fun controls you, and you keep crossing your limits, where ‘fun’ becomes a priority over your well-being, think! Weigh your priorities, are you growing or deteriorating?  I believe in fun and always strive to choose to have fun that leaves me re-energized, rejuvenated, feeling better than I was before, ready to kick-start the new week. Fun that allows me to build healthy interactions and connections with my friends, not fun that leaves one wasted, full of regrets, unanswered questions and loopholes, sometimes tragedy, and the worst is: leaves you with an empty broken pocket. I believe in Planned and wisely budgeted hang outs, considerate of each of us, that’s involved. Save up, go travel to a new city, eat some new food, listen to some live concert, watch a live rugby game, cheer and scream and allow yourself to release that negative energy inside of you. Hike, camp out, breathe. Play games, go dance at parties. Laugh. Be happy. Serve the community, visit an invalid in hospital, bring them fruits, and make him smile. Be happy. Like real happy. Be fulfilled. Real Life is in your heart, not in what you want people to see. Love yourself, choose your well-being above all else.

I dream of a world of relationships where people would understand that mountains are climbed from the bottom to the top. And after climbing to the top is where you get rewarded with that feeling of achievement, the worth of your hard work, you get to enjoy the breath-taking view of the beautiful landscape. Only after climbing. So why not strive to build a healthy relationship, focus on growing each other, as priority before intimacy, because as you climb, as you struggle to build, that’s where the testing happens. The test of real unconditional love, test of patience, kindness and forgiveness. Those who stand the test, get the reward of a strong unbreakable bond in the end.

Lastly, I dream of a world where people will understand the principle of times and seasons. Making the appropriate move at the right season. Not harvesting when we are supposed to be planting, or weeding when we are supposed to be harvesting. Consulting the God who controls times and seasons. That we may have the patience to withstand the harsh seasons as we await the harsh seasons as we await the fruitful seasons.

As I said before, ‘He makes everything beautiful, in its time.’

They would discuss how their husbands want to marry a second wife and how it is a good idea because the “small wife” would help around with the chores

I actually do admire their generosity when it comes to honoring and submitting to their husbands.
