Overview
What would be your dream holiday? For me,
I think it would be visiting some of my favorite places around the globe, the only thing is that it would
probably be extremely draining for me to squeeze all that I want to do into one holiday, and I’m not sure I’d like it to be this way.
The Holidays are close, the festive season has just ended a few weeks ago and people have already
started making noise about the Valentine's which is due in a matter of days now then Easter holidays to
follow. I do not know exactly where I will be. In all likelihood somewhere in Nairobi. The Universe
willing, someplace warm just a little and chilly a bit, I love chilly weather.
I am working hard not to freak out about the Holidays. I don't want to get caught up in expectations,
agendas, societal pressures of what I should be doing or where I should be and with whom during this
time. That would only make me sad and well get me thinking. I am pretty sure I will be at someplace.
Alone? Well, probably there will be somebody around. But, I do not know who or what they will be
about. I have not planned that far.
I plan for a long walk, fully bundled up, of course, into some park. I can maybe take coffee and a
sandwich to take along that I can enjoy while sitting on those benches which are very thoughtfully
provided at different locations throughout the park. But if it were up to me
It’s always been a dream of mine to go the Maldives, so much so that I feel as though I need to wait for a
special occasion, like a milestone birthday or do I even dare to say my honeymoon! And let me tell you,
this trip will be extra as hell, it's a dream after all! I would stay in one of those luxury huts on the water
with my own private dip pool and steps to the ocean. The living room would be open plan with a
separate bedroom with big sliding doors to the pool and ocean. The bathroom would also have a free
standing bath complete with a bathrobe and slippers, everybody needs some home comforts wherever
they go if they're to enjoy themselves.
I'd spend my days laying on the beach reading, sleeping or taking in the amazing views, all the while
getting the tan of my life! I would go on multiple boat trips, however, how much I don't like water
transport and island hop to explore the wild life and experience the island culture of the ocean. I would
spend the evenings in strappy dresses and sandals having sunset cocktails on the beach and devour
all the local food I could eat! On that note I would eat my heart out daily and not put on any weight (it’s
my dream okay?!) I would then dance the night away, well with the help of the cocktails obviously and
make the most perfect memories with my loved ones.
Right! Time to stop daydreaming and go back to reality, seriously though, last Sunday while in church
something hit me hard and got me thinking, when God told king Hezekiah that he was going to die and
he had to put his house in order, then I was like have I achieved enough or even fulfilled my purpose at
least Fiji is a dream right, hahaha food for thought, folks.
